Carolina Panthers is an American football team from Charlotte, the biggest city in North Carolina. They were created as one of the 90s franchises, and that means they are extremely young for NFL. Despite that, they normally occupy the middle places in the overall ranking, making them moderately powerful overall.

Who owns Carolina Panthers? David Tepper is a current owner of the Panthers. He bought them in 2018 for a few billion dollars.

History Logo

Carolina Panthers Logo history

The team was launched in 1993 in North Carolina. As such, they are the 29th team to join the League out of 32 in total. The name doesn’t have any deeper connotations to the state or the city, although they heavily use blue in branding, perhaps because Charlotte is big on this color.

1995 – 2012

Carolina Panthers Logo 1995

When the team played their first season in 1995, they adopted this logo: a panther depicted neck up with an aggressive expression. It was mostly pitch black, but most features and tones were highlighted by the color blue. The teeth and the eyes are the only exception – they are white.

2012 – today

The illustration was updated in 2011, and they removed much of the shades and tones, making it positively 2D now. All the edges were now colored blue, while the logo overall was outlined with a thin layer of black. There were also more coloring changes – most notably, the addition of white to the nose, whiskers and brows.

Helmet History

There haven’t been too many design variations, and they only really changed the emblem on the side since 1995. It was always grey with a thin black line outlined in blue running through the middle. It wasn’t like most stripes the helmets have there – it didn’t go all the way down and ended in a pointed tip.

Uniform History

Carolina Panthers Uniform

There have really been only two major uniform designs for the team. One is the black jersey with blue stripes, in addition to grey pants. The other is the white blue-striped jersey with white pants. They alternated them as home colors, although they are normally used in parallel as home and away uniforms, one way or another.
