History Logo

Various Bulldog teams were established in different timeframes. For instance, the football team was created in 1892. The contemporary name was adopted in 1920, for unclear reasons. Although not featured on the main logo, some minor emblems depicted the team’s iconic bulldog mascot, Uga.

Their long-time logo depicts a bit wide letter ‘G’ colored in black. It’s put on a white oval pretty much its size, but expanding some distance beyond the letter’s edges. The edges of the circle itself are outlined in violent red. These are the traditional colors for the team’s uniforms.

Helmet History

Georgia Bulldogs Helmet

For their football team, the helmet designs were either grey or red, alternating every couple of seasons. The red is by far their favorite, although there were also several black variations, as well as 50/50 combinations of two colors. In general, these are the three colors they used throughout the years.

Uniform History

The uniforms are also mostly using just three colors: white, red and black. The red & white combinations are by far their favorite, followed closely by black & white uniforms, and then by completely black ones. They’ve been using these periodically since their inception, changing them on a whim.
