Vegas Golden Knights is an American hockey team from Nevada. They’ve only joined the NHL fairly recently – and even that is rather unexpected for a state this hot and dry. Despite this, they are regarded as one of the most promising rising stars of the League, owing to their powerful roster of players.

History Logo

The club was formed in 2017 in New Vegas. The city never had a proper professional hockey team before, it’s believed. The name is a reference to the ‘black knights’ of the US Military Academy, while the gold part references the state’s title as the country’s biggest exporter of gold.

2016 – 2017

Between the city receiving its franchise in 2016 and the actual uncovering of what the team’s going to be, this was the transitional logo. It’s a rectangle with just two words: ‘Vegas’ & ‘Hockey’. Both are written in sharp, geometric letters, colored in white. The only other component is a small NHL shield in the bottom left corner.

2017 – today

The actual first logo is a black shield outlined by a bold golden frame. In its middle (and slightly beyond the shield itself), they put an illustration of an Antique helmet. It’s mostly golden-colored, with a few black and white parts for shading and illumination effects. Interestingly, many lines here are parallel to the shield edges.

Helmet History

The team obviously had very few design variations. The helmets are black for home, golden for away and white for alt. However, they like to wear gold-adorned black helmets whenever they play home: it’s not real gold obviously, but it shines so clearly it could be genuine.

Uniform History

Their uniforms completely reflect their helmets, with just some exceptions. Their shorts are always black, and the socks are usually golden (except for the away uniforms, they are white there). Unlike the helmets, they don’t wear gold decorations, but instead just display the team logo on their chests.
